WE SPEND TIME AND EFORT TO CREATE A FAMILY ENVIRONMENT, EXCITING BIRTHDAYS, SUNDAY ROAST DINNERS, PRESENTS UNDER THE CHRISTMAS TREE, HALLOWEEN PARTIES, HOLIDAYS AND TRIPS TO THE FUNFAIR. OUR CHILDREN DRESS WELL AND ARE LOOKED AFTER IN COMFORT.
The future for our children is our concern and we know that one day they will leave our provision, some will go into further care and others into the big wide world. With this in mind we promote career advice for our children, helping them to plot their path in life.
To give them snippets of a taste of the wider world we help them obtain placements in work experience and engage in altruistic activities such as charity work.
Our young people run micro-projects such as a 'tuck shop' where they can undestand the concept of supply, demand, economics, budgeting and entrepreneurship.
As part of their independent living plans, our children have their own bank accounts and we help with budget planning in their key working sessions. We have many transport vehicles which allow us to take the children to and from school or contact with families.
We have in some circumstances been able to obtain DLA and incapacity benefits for certain children with extensive disabilities and have a robust auditable accounts system.
